Catching Up....

It's been a few weeks since posting anything about life around the Cerra house. This is a random collection of photos of what has been going on with the girls.

At Lowe's, they have building workshops for kids. David and his friend Ryan ventured up with the kids to make an 18 wheeler.

Proud kiddos with their completed projects.

Molly hard at work putting together her truck.

Lindsey with a hammer?!? That was the main reason I opted to stay home.

It's gotten cold around here - REALLY cold. Molly's answer? Go into the closet and put a poncho around your waist as a fleece skirt, a pashmina as a head dress, and Lindsey's size 3T coat on her 6X body. And then go over to meet the new neighbors.

David was "reading" bedtime stories to the girls on the couch. This was what I found when I thought it seemed awfully quiet.

Lindsey had had a rough evening, so I decided the next day she could take it easy, stay in her "Nemos" and just relax. She made her own chocolate milk, ate fried rice for breakfast, and had herself a fabulous day as you can tell from her chocolate grin.

Molly's friend Madison dropped off some shoes that are now too small for her. I put them in her closet not thinking that I should put them somewhere else until they fit her. We came home from church this a.m. (B is here visiting) and found Molly sporting her new shoes - that are 4 sizes too big. B said when she came downstairs, she announced "that mommy was so nice and must have bought her new hip hop shoes." So, guess we'll limit where we go today because she is NOT taking them off.

Lindsey is tired of Molly being the lucky one and coming home with all the homework. She wanted homework so I printed off a few sheets for her. As you can tell, she is oh so proud of her L's.

On Thursday, the Kindergarten classes had a "feast." At school, Molly was a chief but she came home with a pilgrim hat as well that she plans on wearing to Thanksgiving dinner. I've been told I need to make a pilgrim dress and apron before T-day as well. She's made decorations for the table and this morning made a Thanksgiving matching game. Grammy might not realize just how festive this T-day will be with Miss Molly around!

Weekend Fun with Hannah

Oh how the girls love to see cousin Hannah. It had been way too long since we last saw her so they were extra excited about this weekend visit. We played in the yard, painted, went out to lunch on Sunday, went to the driving range, and ended the weekend at the Parker's house for an oyster roast and s'mores. Everyone had a great time.

drawing Molly made for her of her.

Saturday a.m. when I got home from the grocery store,
I rounded the corner and found Molly and Lindsey slow
dancing to AC DC's "Little Lover" (music selection by
Daddy, obviously.) Wasn't able to capture those moments
on video but later Saturday night, they gave another
dance performance in the kitchen which I did capture.

Water for Sale!

That's right - that free water you can get from you faucet is for sale down at the Cerra house. Cost = "any coin."

Molly came in while I was working on the computer and asked me how to spell water. Then she asked me to spell sale. Thought it was odd but still didn't pay much attention until a few minutes later when Lindsey walked in and showed me her "coin" she got for selling water. So, I decided a water sale was much more interesting than anything I was reading on the computer, and headed outside with my camera.

Molly putting her sign on her water table (made with the top of a dog carrier and covered with a blanket she grabbed from the closet.) The pitcher she got from the garage floor - it's the one I use to water the plants and fill the dog bowls.

When the stand was all set up, Molly was concerned no one was coming to buy her water. David had been the only customer so far. She thought she needed to move closer to the street. Never mind that our cul-de-sac might have two cars drive through a day.

Molly told David that she "even had an umbrella in case her customers got hot." WOW - what service.

I left them to sell their water and David came is saying they were yelling "water for sale" at the top of their lungs. I called friend Elizabeth and asked her to come with "coins" and children. Molly and Lindsey were sooooo excited to have actual customers.

Elizabeth was a good sport and "bought" water as well. Hers was luke warm and had a hair floating in it. Oh, and Molly is serious about making as much of a profit as possible. When you finished your water, if there was anything left in the cup, she dumped it back into the pitcher. She said she "didn't want to waste the water." The germ rating was pretty high at the stand - the 3 cups were recycled between Molly, Lindsey, David, me, Elizabeth, Copeland, and Jay - no cup washes in between customers. Good thing the Health Department didn't swing by.

Molly told her friends that next time she sets up a stand, she's going to sell chocolate milk. Mmmmm...can you imagine how tasty that treat will be.

And the total profit - 5 coins totaling 13 cents. And Molly was...thrilled!
