Lindsey's Last Day

It's hard for me to believe that today was Lindsey's last day of 3 year old Preschool. I decided to have her wear the same dress she did the first day of school and stand in front of the same tree so it would be easier to tell any differences.

Not that big of a difference from what I can see. Other things haven't much changed about Lindsey either...she is still happy, butchers the English language, makes us laugh multiple times a day, loves all animals, is kind to her friends and Molly, makes messes daily, gives the best hugs ever, and is just a lot of fun to be around.
Today Molly is still sick so I had to take her to the doctor at 11:00 a.m. which meant I'd miss Lindsey's end of the year party and picking her up from school and taking her to gymnastics. In typical Lindsey fashion, she didn't get upset and just said, "that's OK mom." The girl can make me smile and make my heart melt!!! Looking forward to a fun summer spending lots of time with little Lindsey Lou.

$2.20 and a book...

Today, the girls and I watched "Opera" together. I SWEAR this is not something we usually do, but we've been home sick on and off since Thursday so it just seemed like an OK thing to do. And today, it was. Oprah had individuals on that have found ways to help out others during these tough economic times.

Molly was most taken with Hannah, the girl who collects socks and Ashlee, the little girl who collects toys. Lindsey was mostly rolling around on the floor with the dogs begging me to change the channel to a "kid show" but she got the idea that kids can help out too.

Molly decided to go upstairs and get some money from her Piggy Bank. She wrote a note to Ashley, and put her money in an envelope to mail.

Sick eyes about to head to the mail box with her letter and $2.20 donation. See the vacuum in the background. I really did do something around the house today. It wasn't all about lying around watching T.V. - just mostly.

Lindsey joined in by picking "a book I don't really like that I'll give to the poored."

She wrote her name on the envelope and she wanted a "sticker" (stamp) for her envelope, too. I gave her one that she put on the other side and she marched to the mailbox as proud as she could be to mail her book to the "poored that live in Africa."

Thanks, "Opera" for showcasing all different ways young and old can help out people in need.

Thanks Girls!

You two make my heart melt, make my blood boil, make me laugh until I cry, and make me love in a way that I thought unimaginable until you two entered my world. I feel blessed to be your mom!

Whew...an uneventful week!

Ahhhh, what an uneventful week. Exactly what I needed after the crazy antics from last week.

Molly and Lindsey got haircuts this week. Molly striking a pose to show off all sides.

Lindsey got a makeover courtesy of Molly. She's ready for 14th Street. Molly hasn't mastered the art of subtle and natural quite yet.

Monkeying around....

Demonstrating proper footwear for a hike in the woods.

A hike and picnic at Pooh Park.

I never tire of this smile.

Daddy learned a thing or two about being a "base" as his girls practiced moves at the park.

Happy Mother's Day!

Not my favorite week!

The week started off just fine, even more than fine.

We went to church with Christopher and Krystal and then had some Mexican for lunch. Krystal treated the kids to some South Carolina style teeth which Molly loved so much she took them for show and tell on Monday.

Our friend Kimberly is having a little girl so I thought I would bring adorable little cake pops to the surprise shower that had cute little eyes, a curl, and an open little mouth. Making the cake pops went fine until I put the faces on. The "cute little baby girl face" I was going for looked more like Mr. Bill from the old Saturday Night Live shows. Elizabeth came down and tried to make them look as I had envisioned only she didn't have much luck either. So, McCrary got to eat one and David got several as did the girls. Thank goodness for friends like Ruffin that wasn't sure I could pull it off anyway and had already placed an order for a cake "just in case."

This water playtime at my house is fun but I bet starting my mom's car later and cutting the hair off my pony would be so much more fun.

Jay trying to bring the half shirt and butt crack look back into fashion.
Emma decided to join the fun and dig a hole to China. David was thrilled. Yet another reason to adore this dog of ours.

Requested lunch: pickles and peanut butter.

Molly before the Daughter/Daughter dance at Polo Road.

Dad, before we get in the car, maybe I should tell you I decided to monogram the back of the headrest in the car with my first initial - in ink!

Lucy's last moments in the tank with Troy.

Go and be free, Lucy!

Lucy's new home - hopefully she was not gulped up by some other creature in the lake.

Ahhh, it's Sunday which means this week is over. Here's hoping for a week free of crazy kid antics.
